Scripture to Read Today: Daniel 1:18-21
Your Father (in Heaven) knows what you need before you ask him..
Matthew 6:8

Just a few weeks into the pandemic, J.J. Heller and her husband David wrote a song of worship expressing trust in God. Like all Americans (and ultimately everyone worldwide), J.J. and David had no idea what was ahead with this fast-spreading, dangerous virus. If anyone could go back and warn us and others that the serious impact of the virus would last well over 12 months, no one would believe it.
In the early days of the COVID crisis, we had no idea if things would get worse or better as time passed. The road ahead was unclear. The path forward could not have been predicted.
Not knowing what lies ahead can worry or frighten anyone. And it is not just the scary part of the unknown that causes us concern. New beginnings and exciting changes can also cause us anxiety. The uncertainty of tomorrow brings us fear and grief today - if we let it.
Daniel and his three friends from Judah arrived in Babylon as captives. The Babylonians ripped them from their homes and their families. The four young men were added to a training program for noble, wise men. They knew they might never see family or friends ever again. They had no idea what the next several decades held in store. But, they trusted their God. They determined to please Him in how they lived with so much unknown in a foreign land. They might not have known the path ahead, but their God did. He knew they would stand out for Him in such a pagan culture as Babylon.
Maybe you have embarked on something new, different, and exciting. Trust the God who knows what lies ahead to give you peace today. Perhaps some storm clouds seem to be gathering on the horizon. Concerns have grabbed your attention. Trust God. He knows what you will face. He will be there to travel through the storm with you!

When you don't know what will happen, days, months, and years from now, remember the One Who does know!
You Already Know
By J.J. Heller, David Heller, and Leslie Jordan (2020)
Everything around me seems uncertain
My weary heart can't take much more surprise
I wish there was a point on the horizon
Something I could see with my own eyes
I need to tell you that I'm scared
I feel completely unprepared
And nothing's what it was two weeks ago
But you already know
You already know
Everything I'm scared of
Everything I hope
You hold my tomorrow
And all tomorrow holds
You already know
I can't seem to find the easy answers
Someday, I hope the suffering makes sense
I just need to know that you are with me
Even if you keep me in suspense
We talk so much these days
Because I have so much to say
You stay and listen to me closely even though
You already know
You already know
Everything I'm scared of
Everything I hope
You hold my tomorrow
And all tomorrow holds
You already know
Whatever I'm feeling
Whatever is coming
Whenever the ending
You're already there
You go before me
You go behind me
Wherever I'm going
You're already there
You already know
You already know
Everything I'm scared of
Everything I hope
You hold my tomorrow
And all tomorrow holds
You already know
You already know
