The LA Rams will play the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday. The Rams' offices are one exit from our church campus, so our area has some extra buzz as the Super Bowl approaches. On Monday, the team held a fan pep rally for some of their most committed fans to kick off the week leading up to the big game. The NFL organized the event, and Oaks Christian School (our church's next-door neighbor) hosted it on the school's football field. Thousands of excited fans showed up to cheer on the local favorite.

The Rams' DJ for home games at SoFi Stadium, DJ Malski, built up the crowd's enthusiasm and energy before the rally. Lesli and I got to go to the event and enjoyed his interactions with the fans and the variety of music he played. He did a great job creating a fun and pumped-up atmosphere!

DJ Malski gets the crowd at Ram home games leaning in by shouting questions at the crowd and having them shout back the answer in unison. He used one of those questions a lot in the lead-up to and during Monday's fan pep rally. The DJ would shout, "Whose house?" The crowd roared back, "Rams' House." Before and during the rally, he probably shouted this at least 50 times. The crowd never got tired of it.

At Ram home games and this rally, you know that the Rams and their fans own SoFi Stadium, and they will own whoever challenges them in it. If you didn't know that the chant led by DJ Malski makes that clear.

As followers of Christ, we are one family, part of the household of God. The Apostle Paul told the Ephesian believers of the first century that they might have been divided by distinctions such as Jew and Gentile, but no more. In Christ, we are one family, not two. We must understand that we may come from different socio-economic, ethnic, racial, or other backgrounds, but we are one in Christ. God's household of faith is one family. Not two. Not many. One.

"You are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household" (Ephesians 2:19). If you know Jesus, you are part of one spiritual household - the household of God. Our home is with Him. Our identity is with Him.

Today, text, email, or call a Christian brother or sister. Thank them for being in God's family, His household, with you. Celebrate with them that our family is one family and we are a part of God's house!

No one I know could imagine me as a DJ pumping up a crowd. Frankly, those who know me (even a little bit) would laugh if someone called me "DJ Shawn." The title, role, and image just don't fit. But, let me ask you. When it comes to who you are in Christ and His Church, "Whose House?" Of course, "God's House!"

Remember that you are not alone and adrift in life. You are united with all followers of Christ in His household!
