THE Generous Giver

1 John 4:19

A great friend of Calvary, Brenton Brown, helped write a beautiful song entitled "Generous Giver." We sang this song this past weekend at the conclusion of each of our services. Our God truly is the generous giver. He sent His one and only Son to us. He provided us the gift of salvation, eternal life in Him. Through Christ, we have been welcomed into the family of God and completely forgiven of all our sins.

His generosity towards us flows directly from His grace - His goodness that we do not deserve. Therefore, when we sing of His amazing grace, we praise Him for being the Generous Giver.

Any love or gratitude we express to Him comes as a direct response to His grace in our lives. Our generosity towards His Kingdom comes as a response to His generosity towards us. "We love Him because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19).

Because our God has given so generously to us, we can give generously to Him!
